OOMEGA 3.0 released

After another year of hard work we are proud to announce OOMEGA 3. It seems to be a very healthy release. ;-)

In fact there are loads of new features and modules. Here's a short overview of the major improvements:

  • Eclipse Plug-in: Now we officially announce OOMEGA's Eclipse Plug-in which enables you to model within your favourite IDE.

  • Textual Modelling Kit (TMK): The generic textual modelling kit automatically provides the respective Eclipse text editor for your domain-specific language.

  • ATLAS Transformation Language (ATL): Now we support model-to-model (M2M) transformations due to the integration of ATL which is a leading open source M2M transformation engine.

  • XML Schema/XML: OOMEGA computes the corresponding XML Schema (XSD) for your metamodel and vice versa. The same works for OOMEGA models and XML instances. OOMEGA is now a XML database, isn't it?

  • Network Layer: Formerly you could connect to OOMEGA's MemoryDB, db4objects, Hibernate and Versant with one and the same API. Now you can additionally connect to OOMEGA's network layer which delegates your queries and object interactions to the remote database. Our middleware uses a very sophisticated object caching and pre-loading mechanism so that network traffic is minimised and performance is optimised.
